This long-awaited, epic finale to Avengers: Infinity War follows our emotionally distraught, PTSD-suffering superhero survivors of Thanos’ “snap-ture,” which turned half of all living things to dust. The arrival of Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) gives a core group of Avengers hope they can use quantum physics (yes, time travel) to undo Thanos’ dirty work and bring their loved ones back to the present.

The Russo brothers directing duo really outdo themselves with a cleverly constructed story that is a master class in comic book superhero storytelling. In addition to the now expected dazzling action sequences, the film incorporates clever flashbacks to some of the prior 21 films to pull at the nostalgic heartstrings of fans while also adding some unexpected and surprisingly funny moments – Thor (Chris Hemsworth), in particular.

It’s the ultimate superhero reunion – both joyous and wistfully sentimental – packed with plenty of surprises, cameo appearances and an emotionally stirring score. It is so tightly paced you won’t even notice the three hour runtime. An instant classic.
